Our Testing Machines
We are currently testing Linux distributions on the following computers:
- Asus Zephyrus: A high-performance laptop known for its robust hardware.
- Dell Optiplex 3060: Reliable desktop PC suited for various workloads.
- Dell Inspiron 5680: A versatile workstation with strong Linux compatibility.
- Dell Precision 3440: A powerful workstation ideal for more demanding tasks.
All of our physical machines are running CachyOS with KDE Plasma, as we find it to be the best Linux distribution available in 2024.
Virtual Machines for Broader Testing
To offer a comprehensive view and guidance for users of different Linux distributions, we also utilize virtual machines. These allow us to test and document:
- Ubuntu
- openSUSE Tumbleweed
- Debian 12
Using virtual machines helps us provide valuable insights and timelines for users of these distributions, complementing the primary testing done on our physical hardware.
